1971: The play was to have been performed in Afrikaans as Karel as part of a triple-bill with Wolf, Wolf hoe laat is dit? and Teenspoed by Libertas Theatre Club under the direction of Marie van Heerden, opening 29 October 1971. However, in the absence of any theatre programme or newspaper reports (especially as one would expect in the local Stellenbosch weekly paper Eikestad Nuus), it is assumed that the production never materialised.
1981: Performed in Afrikaans as Karel in the Keller Theatre in May 1981 for examination purposes, directed by Lochner de Kock.
