(“Nongqawuse” – Xhosa) by Mary W. Waters. A play about the starving of the Xhosa as a result of the killing of the cattle as prophesied by Nongqause the young prophet. The play focusses on their redemption by the missionaries. Published by Lovedale in 1924. Produced as the second production by the Bantu Dramatic Society in 1933/4?**.
