James van Helsdingen (196-) Actor and presenter.
Contents
Training
James studied at UCT from 1985 and obtained a Bachelor’s degree and Drama diploma.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
As a student he performed in Die Kaalkop Prima Madonna (UCT, 1987).
For PACOFS James acted in productions of 'n Brommer in die Boord (1989), Die Koggelaar (1989), Liewe Heksie ("Blommie", 1990), Oedipus by Hugo Claus (1990), My Arme Marat (1990), a production in Afrikaans of Equus (1990), Die Groot Wit Roos ("Seun", 1991), Macbeth ("Malcolm", 1992) and for PACT in Love! Valour! Compassion! (1996).
Other stage appearances were in Private Lives ("Victor", 2002), the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk (2003), Selle Ou Storie ("Gregory", 2004), In Hennie van Coller’s farce Die Dokumente in 2009 and in Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'be Wikipedia [Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be - Wikipedia] 2009.
