Translated and adapted from an unnamed German original into Dutch in 1874 as Pappa gaf Permissie ("Father gives permission") by C.F van der Brugghen (Carel Theodorus van der Brugghen, 1812-?, sometimes wrongly listed as "G.T. van der Brugghen"). Title also found as Pappa gaf Permissie!. Performed in Dutch by the association Kunst door Vriendschap in the Neerlandsch Koffiehuis in Leiden on 14 Decmber 1874 and in the Leidse Schouwburg on 13 June, 1875.
