Daan se Doilie is an Afrikaans farce by Pieter Fourie (1940-)

The original text

A farce about a pair of twins and their emotional links, it was written in 1990 and submitted to PACT for performance in August. The performance was not well received by and large, and in fact became part of a storm that had erupted around his position and output as resident dramatist at PACT even before he began the play. It would be the last piece written under his contract and the contract would not be renewed. The text has never been published.

Performance history in South Africa

1990: First performed in the Momentum Theatre at the State Theatre, the play opened last week of August. Directed by Denys Webb with Eghard van der Hoven, Paul Luckhoff, Petru Wessels, Janine Pretorius en André Lombard.. It was also scheduled at the Adcock Ingram Theatre at the Windybrow Theatre Complex from 21 tot 29 September, but the run was cancelled because of poor ticket sales.
