Marlene Dietrich (1901-1992) was an iconic German born Hollywood screen actress/cabaret artist.
In 1965 a 20 year old Pieter Toerien invited her to South Africa and she accepted, so the Toerien-Rubin Company brought her to South Africa again in 1965, to perform at the Johannesburg Civic and once more in 1966.
