The Hollow Crown [1] is an anthology, devised by English theatrical director John Barton (1928- ) [2] in 1961, which presents in dramatic form, speeches, documents, gossip and music, associated with the British monarchy from William the Conqueror up to Queen Victoria.

1967: Performed in aid of the Jane Fenn Benefit Fund. (The Star 19 April 1967)
1976: Rhodes University Drama Department production directed by Roy Sargeant, with Lois Butlin, Stephen Gurney and John Burch in the cast, presented during a Speech and Drama Workshop in June 1976.
1980: Staged by the University of the Witwatersrand School of Dramatic Art, directed by David Horner, with Pauline Bailey, Joseph Ribeiro, Fred Hagemann, Ian Steadman and David Horner.
