Eduard Christiaan Pienaar (1882-1949). Critic and academic.
He wrote a devastating review of the Cape Town run of Hendrik Hanekom's first two touring productions, namely Oom Gawerjal se Dogters en die Stemkoors and Liefde en Geldsug (Die Burger, 15 March 1925), which affected the future of the company.
