Haß und Liebe ("Hate and love") is a German play in four acts by Christian Friedrich Ferdinand Anselm von Bonin (1755 - 1813)[1]. (Also written Hasz und Liebe in Roman script.)

First published in Berlin by Friedrich Maurer in 1787.
Translations and adaptations
Translated into Dutch as Haat en Liefde by H. Moolenijzer, published in Amsterdam by Rohloff, 1814.
(Not to be confused with the Afrikaans one-act play Haat vir Liefde by M.E. Strydom)
Performance history in South Africa
1823: Produced in Dutch as Haat en Liefde by the amateur company Tot Nut en Vermaak on 7 June in the African Theatre, with as afterpiece De Spraaklooze (Von Kotzebue) (or as De Spraakloze according to Bosman, 1928).
1873: Produced in Dutch as Haat en Liefde by the amateur company Aurora II on 4 September in the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town, with as afterpiece De Weddenschap (Melt J. Brink|Brink).
