Performance history in South Africa

2000-2001: Staged with Coco Merckel as the character Pubs in The Laager at the Market Theatre in May 2000 and again in May 2001, directed by Robert Coleman. Musical backing by Merckel's father Bobby Merckel (saxophone), his uncle, Henry Merckel (keyboards) and Jesse Mogale (bass guitar). Musical direction by Xoli Norman.

2002: The same production was staged in the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town in 2002, and taken on tour to Zimbabwe and the Netherlands.
