The Hawtrey Comedy Company was a British theatrical touring company headed by the actor-manager William (W.F.) Hawtrey (fl. early 1900s) (and originally founded with his brother, the more famous Charles Hawtrey, 1858-1923[1])
The company visited South Africa in 1894 with a production of Charley's Aunt (Thomas), done as one of the first performances at the Good Hope Theatre, Cape Town, under the management of the Wheeler Company.
