East is a 1975 verse play by Steven Berkoff, dealing with growing up and rites of passage in London's rough East End.
The play was premiered at the Edinburgh Festival at the Traverse in 1975.

1978: Barney Simon directed the play in 1978 at the Laager starring David Eppel, Marcel van Heerden, Peter Piccolo, Lesley Nott and Ron Smerczak.
1990: Presented in South Africa by the Baxter Theatre, directed by Christopher Weare opening 18 July 1990 starring Jamie Bartlett (Mike), Lara Bye (Sylv), Nick Ashby (Les), Leanne Goronovsky (Mum), Barry Burke (Dad). Decor and lighting by Brian Collins, costumes Ann Sharfman, stage manager Nigel Sweet, sound Mark Whittemore.
