Performed in The Glass Menagerie (as “Amanda”), The Rose Tattoo (as “Serafina”), Come Back, Little Sheba, Renaissance Night (1943), (and directed) Abie's Irish Rose, Don't Listen, Ladies!.

She appeared as Sadie Thompson in Rain by Somerset Maugham 1944.

In 1946 she founded an own company, Elizabeth Renfield and Company, to present Eugene O'Neill’s Mourning Becomes Electra and Wuthering Heights in which she portrayed Cathy.

She played Lola in William Inge’s Come Back, Little Sheba in 1950.

She had a role in the feature film The Lion's Share, released in 1985.
