Garth began his writing career in 1989. Together with Deon Opperman he has written adaptations for theatre and documentaries for SABC, as well as short stories
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Garth collaborated with Deon Opperman in the writing of Playboys, commisioned by Pieter Toerien, in 1990, Dear Mrs Steyn, Got It Maid! and Great Expectations. The first solo play he wrote was Kaptein Popfees and the Weekend Blues.
