Kaptein Popfees and the Weekend Blues is a farcical comedy by Garth Holmes. It is a satirical assessment embracing such considerations as racial attitudes and marital problems and providing some telling insights into personal liability and guilt.

Presented by the newly formed theatre company Independent Performance Trust in a double bill with Balls and Brains at the Thabong Theatre, Civic Theatre, Johannesburg in 1997, starring Stephen Jennings (James Barlow), André Odendaal (Michael), David Clatworthy (Spike) and Nicole Franco (Jenny). The role of Jenny was taken over by Nicole from Susan Danford who played it in Grahamstown.
