From 1981 to 1983 he worked as freelance actor, after leaving the fashion industry.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
His first professional work was for the Market Theatre in Joanie Galant. He worked with luminaries such as Leonard Schach in After the Fall and Royal Hunt of the Sun, Robert Mohr in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Louis van Niekerk in Die Krismis van Map Jacobs (PACT, 1982). He played leads in Fourie’s Die Koggelaar (1987), *, Faustus in Africa (1995) by William Kentridge and the Handspring Puppet Company. He has also appeared in Moby Dick and Titus Andronicus. * He played Winston in The Island (1983).
He has worked unselfishly in amateur theatre toward a company like SATO.
Played "Slu" in Isidingo on television. He had a role in the South African film Boy Called Twist in 2004.
Awards, etc
He was nominated for the DALRO Best Actor Award (1983) for his role in Die Krismis van Map Jacobs and for a Fleur du Cap Best Supporting Actor in 1986 for his role in Anatomie Titus Fall of Rome.
