Robert Flemyng. (1912-1995) British Stage and screen star [1].
After his stage debut in the early 1930s, Flemyng worked steadily in both London and Broadway, later in films and TV as a character actor. His first film appearance was in 1937. Films include Roy Boulting’s The Guinea Pig (1948 ), The Horrible Dr. Hichcock (1962), The Quiller Memorandum (1966), Kafka (1991) and Shadowlands (1993).
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He came to South Africa in 1952 to star in The Little Hut at His Majesty's Theatre and later in Rattigan’s In Praise of Love for Pieter Toerien and Shirley Firth (The Intimate Theatre, 1974).
