Innocence Lost is a play by Moira Katz.

The original text
The play is an educational theatre project designed to inform vulnerable teenagers of the dangers of being trafficked, and how to recognise and deal with would-be traffickers. The play tells the story of a 14-year-old girl lured away from her home town by a man who promises her the world. She ends up being abducted and held captive as a sex slave.
The play had its incubation around 2018 and was workshopped during the Covid-19 lockdown, before being rolled out after the pandemic.
Performance history in South Africa
2023: Presented by National Children's Theatre on tour to schools across Soweto and Johannesburg. The play won the Naledi Theatre Award for Best Production For Children & Young Audiences aged zero to 13 years.
2026: Presented by National Children's Theatre on tour.
