The original text
The title of the drama refers idiomatically to something insignificant, hopeless, or in vain, and - set in 1975 - the work tells the story of five young men, on a train bound for Upington in the Northern Cape to undergo basic military training as part of the border war
The text was written by Lee Doubell and the broadcast directed by Johan Rademan, with Jacques Bessenger, De Klerk Oelofse, Conradie van Heerden, Chris van Niekerk and Martin Venter. Technical input was supplied by Cassi Lowers.
Broadcast on RSG on 28 May 2020 at 8pm,
