The show follows the life of South African naturalist and author Eugène Nielen Marais - one of a number of dramatic works and films based on his life and work.
Performance history in South Africa
2025: Produced by Wela Kapela Productions and directed by Amanda Bothma with Daniel Anderson, accompanied by Paul Ferreira on piano, with set design by Wilhelm Disbergen and lighting design by Barry Strydom. Played in the OFM Odeion at the Vrystaat Kunstefees in Bloemfontein and in the Drostdy-teater at the Stellenbosch Woordfees in Stellenbosch in October.
