Die Lied van die Reën ("the song of the rain") is a short story by Eugène N. Marais (1871-1936)
Not to be confused with the author's famous poem: Die Dans van die Reën ("The dance of the rain"), though the poem makes out part of the tale and is often published or performed on its own.

The story first appeared in Die Boerevrou in 1921.

In 2024 the tale was recorded for broadcast by Luisterverhale, as a project undertaken by Katinka Heyns and Sonneblom Ateljees, in partnership with LitNet and sponsored by the Dagbreek Trust.
