Heinrich Marnitz (1945-), radio and TV announcer, sports commentator and actor.


BEING WRITTEN

Biography

Born in Johannesburg on 21 August, 1945, he attended High School Linden where he was Head Boy.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

His radio broadcasting career started in the Netherlands.

He and Dorianne Berry were the announcers chosen to open the first television broadcast in South Africa on 5 January, 1976.

Film roles include Dirkie (film, 1969), 'n Bruidsbed vir Tant Nonnie (TV drama, 1976), Dit was Aand en dit was Môre (film, 1977), Sing vir die Harlekyn (1980).


In 2008 he joined Pretoria FM radio and in 2025 announced his retirement from from radio work.
