Fishers of Hope is a play by Lara Foot.
It carries the subtitle subtitled Taweret after the protective ancient mythological Egyptian goddess of childbirth and fertility, and is thus also referred to Fishers of Hope (Taweret) or Fishers of Hope Taweret in some sources.

The play, layered with metaphors, delves into the social and environmental effects on a subsistence family living in quiet desperation in a fishing village and on their community.
Published by Junkets Publisher as Issue 41 of their Playscript series in 2017.

Performance history in South Africa
2014: Co-produced with the Baxter by Maurice Podbrey of Mopo Productions, it was first performed at the National Arts Festival from 3 to 5 July, directed by Lara Foot with Mncedisi Shabangu, Phillip Dikotla, Lesedi Job, Phillip Tindisa and Shaun Oelf, with live music by Nceba Gongxela. The young children were played by Junaide Johnson, Azola Gola and Yomzi Tyali Masixole, alternating with Makuxolwe Sigonya, Simbonile Matshaya and Kwanda Vuba. The production team included Patrick Curtis (design), Benever Arendse (lighting), Grant van Ster (choreography), The Carnell Collective (soundscape), Lesley Nott-Manim (voice coach) and Bongile Mantsai (music consultant).
2014: Performed in the Flipside Theatre at the Baxter Theatre 10 July-2 August.
2015: Performed at the State Theatre Pretoria
