Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society (Bats) is an amateur dramatic society in Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape.
Founding and aims
Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society was established by David Hall-Green and Roger Davis in 2013.
From its very inception, the BATS mission was threefold:
- To have fun indulging their acting aspirations;
- to bring the magic of live theatre to the community;
- and, to donate any proceeds to the Plett Animal Welfare Service for their important work of providing a primary health care service to the neglected dogs and cats of the Bitou area.
Productions
2013: Murdered to Death (directed by David Hall-Green)
2013: The Secondary Cause of Death
2014: Old Actors Never Die… They Just Lose the Plot (directed by David Hall-Green). The production was also presented in the Pemads Little Theatre in Port Elizabeth for four performances from March 27 to 29, 2015.
