Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society

Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society (Bats) is an amateur dramatic society in Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape.

Founding and aims

Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society was established by David Hall-Green and Roger Davis in 2013.

From its very inception, the BATS mission was threefold:

• To have fun indulging their acting aspirations;
• to bring the magic of live theatre to the community;
• and, to donate any proceeds to the Plett Animal Welfare Service for their important work of providing a primary health care service to the neglected dogs and cats of the Bitou area.

2013: Murdered to Death (directed by David Hall-Green)

2013: The Secondary Cause of Death

2014: Old Actors Never Die… They Just Lose the Plot (directed by David Hall-Green). The production was also presented in the Pemads Little Theatre in Port Elizabeth for four performances from March 27 to 29, 2015.

2016: Annie, One Two Three (directed by David Hall-Green)

2017: Blithe Spirit (directed by David Hall-Green)

2019: The Mousetrap (directed by David Hall-Green)

2022: Arsenic and Old Lace (directed by David Hall-Green)

2023: Fawlty Towers (directed by David Hall-Green)
