Kobus Strydom () is a drama teacher, translator, playwright and editor.

Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He wrote Die Voëltjies ("The little birds", an Afrikaans adaptation of The Birds by Aristophanes) and a modernised adaptation of Kinderspeletjies by Marietjie Pretorius in 2015. He apparently also did a stage version of Barry Hough's novel Vlerkdans.

Original plays include Hoe's dit, my ou? (1989)

Compiler of the play collection Tienertoneel: verhoogtekste, a selection chosen from winners or runners up for the ATKV's C.R. Swart Prys ("C.R. Swart Prize") between 1984 and 1988. The collection was published by Tafelberg in 1989.

He translated a number of works over the years, including Hoor jy die musiek? (Can You Hear the Music? by David Campton), Die Geklike Deurmekaarspul Eiland van Dr. Moron ('The Crazy Mixed-up Island of Dr Moreau by Tim Kelly)
