Biography
Born Bernhard Jo Wolf in Ulm, Germany, he studied at the Eberhard-Karls University of Tübingen and the Free University of Berlin, obtaining a Master's degree (with distinction) with a thesis on Sexualitiy and domination in the plays of Heiner Müller.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
2005 he was a visiting lecturer/director at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and in the following year at the University of Namibia (2006).
While in Stellenbosch he did an Afrikaans production of Schillers Maria Stuart at the HB Thom Theatre with students of the Stellenbosch Drama Department. The production was a non-traditional take on the play, using an expanded and radically re-configured version of Karel Schoeman's Afrikaans text, and was done as part of the celebrations for the Schiller centenary year.
