Performance history in South Africa
1964: Fumed Oak was presented by CAPAB, opening 24 June in tandem with Red Peppers and The Astonished Heart under the collective title Tonight at 8.30. The production subsequently toured the Eastern Cape.
1973: Staged as a tribute to Noel Coward by The Space, Cape Town, directed by Pieter-Dirk Uys with Philip Boucher, Paddy Canavan, Valerie Fletcher, John McKenzie, Lynne Maree and David Salton. Designs by Jeff Shapiro and Aubrey Ellis and the lighting by Brian Astbury.
