The original text
Written by Tone Brulin and based on the book My Traitor's Heart[1] by South African journalist Rian Malan (1954-), the performance work uses of dance, song and acting to tell of Malan's experience of growing up in Apartheid-era South Africa.
Performed between 21 February 1997 and 11 April 1998 by Nieuwe Realisaties Theater at various venues in Belgium (e.g. Wereldculturencentrum Zuiderpershuis, Antwerpen; CC Ter Dilft, Bornem; and Theater Teater, Mechelen), directed by Brulin with performers Ivan Pecnik and Bodé Owa. Thereafter also performed in Malaysia, Portugal and other countries.
