The original text
Subtitled "‘n 'ap-toe-dyt' klug" ("an up-to-date farce"), the play was written in 1998 and won the first prize as the best new play by a high school pupil in a newly founded competition open to all schools in the Northern Cape, run by the Upington Leeskring ("Upington reading circle").
The text, author and players also won awards at the various festivals where the play was performed.
