Biography
He studied at the University of Pretoria Drama Department, mid 1980s. Francois passed away in June 2018. At the time of his death he was Artistic Director at the National Children's Theatre.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
As a student he starred in Creon (NAF, 1985).
In 1998 he was in the cast of Thumbelina, in 1999 in Jack and the Beanstalk and in 2001 in Peter Rabbit and Other Tails, all People's Theatre productions.
He appeared as "Horton" in a National Children's Theatre production of Dr Seussical the Musical.
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, adapted and directed by FT, produced by NCT.
He directed the NCT production of The Revealers by American author Doug Wilhelm.
The Astounding Antics of Anthony Ant by Pieter Scholtz, staged and directed by Francois.
In 2015 and 2016 he directed National Children's Theatre productions of James and the Giant Peach and The Little Prince.
Awards, etc.
Honk It, directed by Francois, was nominated Best Production for young Audiences, Naledi Award (Gauteng region, award year 2013).
