State of the Heart is a one-woman cabaret by Amanda Strydom (1956-).

The original text
This was the first one-woman cabaret show she had written herself and would become became a regular feature in her repertoire.
Translations and adaptations
A CD under the same title, with songs recorded from the cabaret, was released in 1995.
Performance history in South Africa
1993: Performed at the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK) in Oudthoorn and won her a Dalro Award and an Evening Post Award.
1995: Performed at the Théâtre Rendezvous in the State Theatre, Pretoria, in concert with her new cabaret The Incredible Journey of Tinkerbell van Tonder.
