De Wonderbaarlijke Uitvinding van Professor Silarsky is a Dutch children's musical play by Erik Vos (1929-)[1].

The original text

First performed in Amsterdam by Toneelgroep Arena on 15 July 1959.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into English by Bill Honeywood as Professor Filarsky's Miraculous Invention, the text performed by Netherlands Centre of the International Theatre Institute, 1965, the text published by Anchorage Press, ©1980.

Translated into Afrikaans as Professor Poffel en Professor Moffel by Wilma Stockenström, the text published by DALRO, 1968.

South African performances

1968: Opened at the Alexander Theatre on 1 April, with Don Lamprecht and William Egan in the lead roles, in addition to Henk Hugo, George Ballot, Adéle van Blommestein and Lorraine Elberg. Directed by Neels Hansen for PACT Youth Drama. Choreography by Sandra Prinsloo.

1973: Performed by PACOFS, directed by Carel Trichardt, starring Cobus Visser and Henk Hugo.
