The Best Man is a play by Gore Vidal (1925-2012)[1].

The original text

The play opened on Broadway at the Morosco Theatre on March 31, 1960, and was nominated for six Tony Awards, including Best Play. Vidal adapted it into a film with the same title in 1964.

1960: Directed by Leonard Schach for the Cockpit Players at the Hofmeyr Theatre in November 1960, starring Ruth Abromowitz, Joyce Bradley, Edward Davies, Brian Haines. Decor by Pamela Lewis.
