First performed at the Royal Surrey Theatre, under the Management of Messrs. Shepherd & Creswick, on Monday, the 15th of October, 1860. The text published by Samuel French in the same year.

1867: Performed as John Wopps by the Le Roy-Duret Company in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, on 23 December, with The Hunchback (Knowles) and a dance by Miss Clara
