Payable on Demand is an original domestic drama in two acts by Tom Taylor (1817-1880)[1]

The original text
First produced at the Royal Olympic Theatre on 11 July, 1859 and published in London by T.H. Lacy in the same year.
Translations and adaptations
Performance history in South Africa
1860: Performed in the Cabinet Theatre, Cape Town, by the Cape Town Dramatic Club on 15 June, with Shocking Events (Buckstone) and a performance of the brass band of the 59th Regiment.
1860: Performed in the Cabinet Theatre, Cape Town, by the Cape Town Dramatic Club on 29 June, with Those Plagues of Children (Morton).
