She died in Port Elizabeth in early April 2012, aged 89.

She taught at the Akademie vir Dramakuns since the 1940s.
She has appeared on stage in productions of Van Nege tot Ses (1954), Germanicus (NTO 1958), Moeder Hanna (in the title role, NTO 1959), Die Koningin en die Rebelle (1967) and Faan se Stasie (PACT 1985).
In her late eighties she had a role as "Tannie Schoeman" in 7de Laan.
