He wrote the plays Champ, The Frontiersmen, The Pervert Laura, The Verbalists, The Bile Boys, The Kingmakers, The Demon Bride (2018), The Hucksters, The Outlaw Muckridge, The Grass Widow and The Visigoths.

Viljoen has co-produced (with Greg Karvellas) the plays Rocks, The Abusers, The Bile Boys, The Verbalists, The Frontiersmen and The Kingmakers.

He was invited to participate in the Edinburgh Festival.

He wrote Rob van Vuuren’s internationally acclaimed one-man show, Dangled, which was invited to the Brighton Fringe Festival in 2017.

His most recent plays, The Visigoths and The Grass Widow were produced and performed at the Baxter Theatre.

His play, The Massacre at Mount Ursula, was showcased at Teksmark 2023.
