Louis Eksteen (1930-2001), prominent Afrikaans academic and lexicographer. Theatre critic.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
According to G.J. Joubert Hoofstad's Louis Eksteen is a linguist. He is fair and his reviews show no signs of undue sharpness. Eksteen protests against permissive tendencies whenever these become manifest in performances.
He was an enthusiastic amateur theatre actor.
