Henri van Wyk (Henry) (19*-) Actor, manager and playwright.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

A member of the amalgamated Paul de Groot Toneelgeselskap from 1927. He started with a role in Besigheid is Besigheid (Mirbeau, 1927), then did Haar Twede Man (Géraldy, 1928), Geleende Geld (Ibsen, 1928). In 1932 he founded the Henri van Wyk Toneelgeselskap and toured with his own play Koningin Esther, playing the fictional Oriental villain "Hamman" himself. His company included Kobus Bester.
