Cissie is a play by Nadia Davids. The play offers an intimate biography of the Cape activist and academic Zainunnissa Gool, a woman born into a prominent Cape family in the late 1800s [1].
Performance history in South Africa
2008: A production of the play debuted at the National Arts Festival, directed by the author, and then moved to the Baxter Theatre from 9 - 26 July. Assistant director Caroline Calburn, with Rehane Abrahams, Quanita Adams, Vaneshrum Arumugam, Bo Petersen, Thembi Mtshali, Charlton George, Chan Marti, André Samuels and André Weideman. Set and costume design by Craig Leo.
