Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She became a professional when she joined Wena Naudé's company. As a member of the National Theatre Organisation bilingual company she acted in Candida in 1950. Other performances for the NTO were in Oupa Brompie in 1950 and Die Ryk Weduwee (1953).
Later founded an own company with her husband Japie van Niekerk.
