Biography
Tang grew up in Hong Kong and Johannesburg and trained at Rhodes University. He taught at Rhodes as a member of the First Physical Theatre Company. He returned to Hong Kong in 2010 teaching at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and working with a variety of choreographers and performing artists.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He devised and choreographed the physical theatre production AmaQueerKwere that was performed in 2005. Other productions include Chaste (2001) and (2007),16 Kinds of Emptiness (NAF, 2006). He directed and choreographed ** The Silent Wail of Melisande (NAF, 2006).
Awards, etc.
In 2007, Tang was presented with the Standard Bank Young Artists Award for Dance.
