Biography
She was married to the actor Dale Cutts and they had a son, Sammy. She later married Deon Opperman.
Training
Janine trained at UCT, from where she received her B.Mus with distinction in piano and a Honours degree in Chamber Music.
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She has performed in recitals in Amsterdam and London, as well as throughout South Africa.
Janine has performed in various cabarets with artists including Nataniël.
She was Musical Director, arranger and performer in Boy Meets Boy, Queen at the Opera, and the 1996 and 1997 FNB Vita Awards. Other productions include The Fantasticks, The Rocky Horror Show and the '60s all-girl musical Beehive at the Sandton Theatre on the Square, Fangs, Summer Holiday, Kaalgestroop, Agter Glas, Fiela's Child - The Musical]].
Janine has composed TV and radio jingles and composed and arranged for various product launches and theatrical events.
She composed the music and was musical director for Vere (Deon Opperman, 2001, Soweto Story (Deon Opperman, 2007) Death of a Salesman, (Baxter Theatre).
Deon Opperman (director and librettist) and Janine Neethling (composer) staged an Afrikaans oratorio called Die Skepping (“The Creation”) in the State Theatre, Pretoria in February 2013.
