The Rise Up and Walk International Youth Arts Festival is a youth development festival initiated by the Sibongile Bax Dale project, in association with the Joburg Theatre's Youth Development Programme, in August 2015.
The programme included plays, dance performances, stand-up comedians, musicians, children story telling and film. There was also a contribution from the world-renowned Paines Plough Theatre Company from the UK, in South Africa for a week from 14 August, running workshops in Soweto, Alexandria and Thembisa as part of the festival programming.
