First performed at St. James's Theatre, Feb. 1, 1836 and published in London by J. Cumberland / Thomas Hailes Lacy , 1836/7.


Performance history in South Africa

1854: Performed by the City Amateur Theatrical Society on Monday 21 August in the Dutch Company's Bree Street Theatre (corner of Dorp Street), Cape Town, followed by The First Floor (Cobb) and The Secret! (Morris).
