From the Katberg Mountains, educated at St Andrews College, Grahamstown, Rhodes University and PE Technikon. He was married to Michelle Botes.
Training
Career
His first professional years were at CAPAB and the Space Theatre. Since 1982 he has been predominantly involved in TV and film work but has done at least one play every year.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He starred in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Kafka’s Metamorphosis together with Henry Goodman, Fiona Ramsay and Steven Berkoff. It was directed by Richard E. Grant and Mike O’Brien and staged at the Market in 1980. Played Donny in American Buffalo.

DALRO award 1987 for the best performance in Afrikaans in Die Koggelaar
