Based on the novel Op soek na Generaal Mannetjies Mentz by Christoffel Coetzee (1998), a full-length play adapted for the stage by Ilse van Hemert and Chris Vorster in 1999.
Performance history in South Africa
Premièred at the Aardklop Festival in September 1999 directed by Ilse van Hemert, designed by Marthinus Basson and starring i.a. Sandra Prinsloo, Marius Weyers, Anna-Mart van der Merwe, Samson Khumalo, Gys de Villiers, Neo Tlhabi, Tinah Mnumzana, Jana van Niekerk, Susan Rossouw, Chris Vorster, Jan Ellis, David Butler, Gerard Rudolph and music by Didi Kriel. The same production was subsequently staged at the Nico Malan in November 1999.
