Die Twee Lampe ("the two lamps") is an Afrikaans play in three acts by Uys Krige (1910–1987).

The original text
Based on an Afrikaans short story, Die Vader ("The father") by Uys Krige's mother, Sannie Uys.
First published by the Afrikaanse Pers Boekhandel in 1951, then by Human & Rousseau in 1975 (twice reprinted, 1977 and 1980).
Translations and adaptations
Translated into English as The Two Lamps by Krige himself and according to an entry in the NELM catalogue, this version is a completely rewritten version by Krige, not a direct translation from the original Afrikaans.
In 1963 the English version received one of two Rosamund Gilder[1] Awards for plays from the African Continent and was first published (with The Big Shots) in The Two Lamps by HAUM in 1964.
