Kinjeketile is a play by Ebrahim N. Hussein (1943-)[1]

The original text
Written in Swahili[] and based on the 1904–1905 Maji Maji Rebellion against colonial rule in German East Africa (present-day Tanzania), it explores the role played by the charismatic spiritual medium and leader Kinjeketile Ngwale[], who claimed to have been given magical water that would protect warriors from German bullets.
First published in Swahili in 1969 as #4 in the Oxford University Press "New Drama from Africa" series (Dar Es Salaam: Oxford University Press). An English version was published in 1970.
